Introducing Squads

We’re happy to announce that we have taken our matchmaking to the next level by releasing Squads into the wild. This is a significant milestone in our quest to make it easier for people to find others to play with.

Squads set the baseline for a bright future of matchmaking on Wasder. With the help of our community, we will continue iterating to make Squads absolute top tier over time.

So what’s new?

Before this release, our users could match with one player at a time on Wasder. With the introduction of Squads players can match with groups of players in any of their favorite games, effectively taking our matchmaking service from a player-to-player to a player-to-group offering.

“ We’re always looking for ways to reduce the Scare Barrier, especially when it comes to matchmaking”

— Markus Schramm, Creative Director at Wasder

Can it be scary to join (and talk to) other players online? Absolutely. But it is often perceived as less intimidating to join a group than to match with one person. By making it easy for our users to match with groups of players with similar interests, we intend to chip away at the so-called scare barrier. 👻

A Squad holds up to 20 players

We also want to thank our community. With your help, we’ve taken matchmaking to the next level. Together, we’re moving closer to a future where it’s easy to find people to play with.
