Rock Paper Scissors — a social experiment straight from the Wasder lab

Let’s face it, getting to know new people can be scary. That’s why we have ice breakers at party’s right? In our latest release of the Wasder app we’ve introduced an ice breaking experiment of our own in the form of a little game enjoyed by people all around the world — Rock Paper Scissors.

Taking on the scare barrier

Whether you’re “mingling” at a party or trying to decide if you’re going to speak up during online play there’s definitely a scare barrier present for most of us. In our pursuit of helping people find others to play with we’ve made it our mission to do something about this. That’s why we’re always testing new ways of obliterating the scare barrier into the very molecules it came from. This Rock Paper Scissors experiment is just one of many that’ll be carried out by the lab coats at Wasder. As with any experimental feature it might come with some side effects and that’s why we’re testing on our amazing pool of test subjects (our users) so we can get feedback. And don’t worry these experiments will be fun for everyone! 🧪

So how does it work?

Let’s say you find someone to play with through our matchmaking feature ‘Party Play’. You have the option to chat directly with your new potential friend or you can ease into it by starting off with a game of Rock Paper Scissors. Now you’re already playing a game together before you’re even playing together. We believe in the power of games and their ability to bring people together, so this fun little game of gestures makes perfect sense when taking on the scare barrier.

On a side note, our CEO Thomas claims that he’s unbeatable. Think you can beat him? Download the Wasder app for iOS or Android to give it a go (psst he usually goes for rock).
